About the department...

The mission of the Department of Mathematics is to implement the training in mathematics to train the students who are able to make research at the international level and to follow the new scientific developments, which will represent the model people in the scientific circles and the world of businesses.

The graduates of this department will be able to continue the higher education in the other universities proposing of the programs of master or doctorate and to become enquiring researchers or teachers. They could be engaged in the sectors of the bank, the actuary profession or finance, in the departments of R&D and of Data processing in the private institutions or the State. They will be able to teach in the schools of National Education or the private establishments and in particular in the schools (colleges and colleges) French-speaking.

Galatasaray University is at 10-15 minutes by walk from Besiktas and Ortakoy. You can reach the university by every bus working on the shore. Following buses from Kabatas

The best way to reach University from Anatolian side of the city is to take the boat to Besiktas from Kadikoy and Uskudar. For detailed information visit http://www.ido.com.tr. Additionally, there are small boats crossing the bosphorus from Uskudar to Besiktas, at the right side of the Uskudar seaport.

From Ataturk Airport, you can use Havas buses for coming to Taksim, and take a bus or a cab for Galatasaray University. If you are coming from Sabiha Gokcen airport, you can visit http://www.sgairport.com/havaalani/eng/ulasim.asp for detailed information. Also, keep in mind that Ataturk Airport is far more practical, and far more closer than Sabiha Gokcen Airport to the city center and to the university.
